About

One student.
One urgent cause.

Breathe Equal was created by a 13-year-old eighth-grade student who believes that the zip code you're born into should never determine the quality of air you breathe, water you drink, or land you call home.

Why I built this.

I am a 13-year-old eighth-grade student passionate about social justice, environmental science, and health equity. I created Breathe Equal because I believe that some of the most serious problems in America are also some of the most invisible — not because the evidence isn't there, but because the people most affected often lack the platform to make their voices heard.

When I first learned about environmental health inequity — that where you live can determine whether your children develop asthma, whether your water is safe to drink, whether your neighborhood sits next to a Superfund site — I felt a moral obligation to do something. This website is that something.

I am not an expert. I am not a scientist or a lawyer. But I am a young person who cares deeply, who has done the research, and who believes that awareness is the first step toward justice. I built every page of this site myself and I stand behind every fact on it.

My goal is simple: to help people understand a crisis that affects millions of their fellow Americans, and to give them the tools to act on that understanding.

Evidence-based
Every statistic on this site is sourced from peer-reviewed research, EPA data, or credible nonprofit reporting.
🤝
Community-centered
The communities most affected by this crisis are not victims to be pitied — they are leaders of their own liberation. This site amplifies their voices.
⚖️
Justice-focused
Environmental health inequity is not just a science problem — it's a civil rights problem. That framing matters.

This is just the beginning.

Breathe Equal is a living project. As I learn more, meet more people, and grow this community, the site will grow with it. If you share this mission, I'd love to hear from you.
